Billing
How billing works
When the first charge hits, how the £45 / £195 monthly cadence works, where VAT lands, and how to grab past invoices.
Last updated 3 June 2026
Plain English version of how the money side works. No surprises, no annual contracts, no setup fee on Foundation.
The cadence
Foundation is £45 per month. Growth Engine is £195 per month. Bespoke is quoted per engagement. All three are monthly recurring on Stripe.
The first charge hits the day you sign up — the calendar timer starts the moment Stripe takes the first £45. Day 30 from then, the second charge. And so on, monthly.
There’s no setup fee on Foundation or Growth Engine. The first month covers the build. Most Foundation sites go live within 7–14 days of signup; Growth Engine within 14–21 days (CRM setup + first article takes a touch longer).
VAT
UK Web Marketing is VAT-registered (registration number on the legal page). All prices are quoted exclusive of VAT — the actual charge on your card is £45 + 20% VAT = £54 per month, or £195 + 20% VAT = £234 per month.
VAT-registered customers reclaim the input VAT on the next return. Non-VAT-registered customers (most sole traders below the £90k threshold) absorb the VAT as a cost.
If you’re billing from outside the UK, VAT may not apply — reply to your invoice with your local VAT number and I’ll reissue. EU customers get reverse-charge VAT under EU place-of-supply rules.
Invoices
Every monthly charge generates a Stripe invoice automatically. Three ways to get to them:
- Email — Stripe emails the invoice PDF to your signup email each billing date.
- Client portal — open ukwebmarketing.com/portal, enter your email, click the login link. Every invoice ever issued is listed, downloadable as PDF.
- Annual summary — at year-end I email a single PDF summary covering all 12 months. Useful for the accountant.
Invoices include: UK Web Marketing’s VAT number, your company name as registered, the line items, VAT breakdown, total, and the Stripe payment reference.
Refunds
First 14 days are fully refundable under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — message me and I refund the full month, no questions. After 14 days, cancel any time and you stop being billed at the end of the paid month (no pro-rata refund for partial months — that’s the only catch).
What’s the actual maths?
Foundation £45/mo × 12 months = £540 a year for the site. Growth Engine £195/mo × 12 = £2,340 a year for the site + CRM + newsletter + 24 articles written for you. Compare what you’re paying now.
