What you actually face
UK accountants hold what's possibly the most retention-heavy data set in any UK SMB sector — six years minimum for HMRC, often longer for client trust accounts, dispute logs, AML records. Where it lives matters not just at the moment of capture but every day across those years.
ICAEW's Code of Ethics + ACCA's Rulebook expect you to manage client confidentiality across all systems. AML supervision (HMRC, ICAEW, ACCA, IFA) expects you to know your data flows. If you're FCA-authorised, you also carry data-handling expectations from the FCA's principles. None of these explicitly mention website infrastructure — but the spirit of all four is consistent: know where client data is, control where it goes, document it.
Most accountant websites built by agencies are stacked on US-resident SaaS — Squarespace + Mailchimp + HubSpot is a typical small-practice combo, and every piece of that processes client data on US infrastructure. A UK Web Marketing site is built on UK + EU infrastructure end-to-end. Sub-processors named on /compliance.
What the site does
One page per service — limited-company tax, self-assessment, payroll, VAT, year-end accounts, R&D credits, MTD. Plain English, accurate without being patronising.
Short forms that capture only what's needed to route: business type, turnover band, urgency. Minimum data capture, encrypted in transit, EU-resident inbox.
Indicative fee ranges per service, structured with schema.org markup. Honest pricing closes more business than hidden pricing — especially with the new generation of business owners.
Practitioner pages with ICAEW / ACCA / CIMA + AML supervision + practising-certificate visibility. Schema.org Person markup for search.
