How we read your report

Three scores, three different kinds of risk.

Speed is a ranking signal and a conversion signal

Google has used page speed in its mobile rankings since 2018, and the Core Web Vitals in your report feed the page experience signals it measures today. The commercial cost is more direct: a slow page loses visitors before they have read a word, and every visitor who gives up is a customer who never sees what you offer. That is why the Speed tab leads the report; it is the one score that hurts you twice.

SEO here means: can Google read you at all

The SEO score is not a promise of first-place rankings. It measures crawlability: whether your titles, descriptions, structured data, link text and mobile setup let Google understand what each page is about. Google indexes the mobile version of your site, so a mobile crawl problem is a visibility problem everywhere. A high score means nothing technical stands in the way; a low one means you are invisible for searches you should be winning.

Accessibility is reach, and it is the law

Under the Equality Act 2010, a website is a service, and service providers must make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people can use it. Findings such as low contrast, missing alt text, unlabelled buttons and keyboard traps are exactly what that duty covers, and every one of them also shuts out real customers, including the 1 in 5 UK adults with a disability. We build to the WCAG guidelines, the same benchmark UK public-sector websites are regulated against.

One honest caveat: this is a lab test

Lighthouse runs your page once, in controlled conditions, on a simulated connection. It is the best available like-for-like check and it is what we use to plan work, but it is not the same as data from your real visitors, whose devices and networks vary. Scores can move a few points between runs, so if a number surprises you, run the check again and compare. Where a decision hinges on real-user data, the Deep-Dive looks at that as well.

FAQ

The free audit, answered.

What is Lighthouse?

Lighthouse is Google's open-source page-quality engine, the same technology behind PageSpeed Insights and the audits built into Chrome. It loads your page the way a real visitor would, on a throttled connection, and scores what it finds across speed, SEO, accessibility and best practices, each out of 100. When you run a check here, we call that engine against your live page and translate the raw findings into plain English.

Can I audit a competitor's site?

Yes. The check works on any public web page, so you can run it on a competitor to see how you compare, or use our side-by-side compare tool to run both sites through the same audit at once. It only reads what any visitor's browser would see, so pages behind a login cannot be checked.

Do you need my email?

No. The full report appears on screen with no email, no signup and no gate. The only time we ask for an email is if you want the report sent to you, and that is entirely optional. If you do not give us your email, we have no way to contact you, and we will not.

What is in the PDF?

If you ask for the report by email, we send the same results as a branded PDF: your four headline scores, the Core Web Vitals measurements, and the ranked list of findings with the fix we would make for each. It is yours to keep, forward or share with whoever looks after your website.

What happens next?

That is up to you. Many people fix things themselves using the free guides in our resource library. If you would like the work planned and quoted properly, the £300 Marketing & Automation Deep-Dive is the next step: a consultation, a detailed written audit and a fixed quote, with the £300 credited against any work you book. And if you would rather just ask a question, contact us, there is no obligation either way.
